In this translation by John Van Burek, we were struck by The Triumph of Love‘s humour, intelligence, and heart.  To us, it’s a story about the triumph of love over all of us.  It’s about the fact that even if we believe we don’t want or need love in our lives, when it comes within our reach we find we will do anything to have it.

The wit and passion of Cole Porter seemed a perfect match for this witty, verbally adroit play.  Porter writes of (among other things) sophisticated people who unexpectedly find themselves in love, and their joy and anguish are all the more poignant because they had thought themselves unassailable.
